They are self contained, needing no outer bearing.
A bed of deep box section is cast solid with two main pedestals and cross head guides.
The flywheel can be fixed on either side of crank shaft.
The Crankshafts made of steel and bent to shape and turned for bearings.
Connecting Rod is of wrought iron with adjustable gunmetal bearings.
Each engine is fitted with Pickering type high speed governor and safety gear.
The Cylinder and steam chest are cast together and lagged and fitted with drain cocks.
